Narada released the "2022 Social Responsibility Report" in July. The report covers Narada's views and measures on environmental, social and corporate governance.

Narada is involved in a number of projects and work in the context of the global energy transition. Five of them will be shared below.

Future Trends of Energy Storage Batteries

In the future, energy storage batteries will develop towards the trend of larger capacity. Narada has developed a 305Ah lithium iron phosphate battery for energy storage in 2022. 305Ah battery has production economy and optimal performance of the battery to achieve 20 years of long life, through a series of technological innovations, such as stacked four-roll core structure, double butterfly welding process and anode expansion inhibition technology.

This innovation includes the product's core technical advantages of low impedance, long cycle and high safety. It helps to build a safe and reliable energy storage system and promotes the green and high-speed development of the new energy industry.

Narada's Energy Storage Improves New Energy Consumption Capacity

Narada won the bid for Huaneng Xinjiang 60MW/125MWh energy storage project in 2022. This project is a major energy storage project in the northwest of China. It is divided into 6 sub-projects, located in Aksu, Kezhou, Turpan, Urumqi and other regions in Xinjiang.

This project has promoted the large-scale application of "new energy + energy storage", enhanced the new energy consumption capacity in Xinjiang, and stabilised the safety level of the power grid.

Lithium Battery Recycling Management

The recycling of used lithium-ion batteries has the significance of comprehensive resource recycling and environmental protection. Narada's subsidiary, Huabao New Materials, is committed to strengthening the recycling management of used lithium-ion batteries, and was selected as a white-listed enterprise in the "Industry Specification Conditions for the Comprehensive Utilization of Used Power Batteries for New Energy Vehicles" in 2022.

Narada has developed business co-operation with some major domestic lithium-ion battery cell factories. It has effectively integrated and built a recycling network system for used lithium-ion batteries, using a combination of online and offline methods.

Carbon Footprint Management

Narada commissioned a third-party professional organisation to perform carbon footprint testing and certification of Narada's major products from raw material acquisition, raw material transportation, product production, transportation, use to recycling in 2022. Based on the results of the carbon footprint testing, more specific carbon reduction programmes have been formulated and implemented. This practice aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during the entire life cycle of the product, and contribute to green manufacturing and green low-carbon development.

Employee Diversity

Narada employs a diverse and talented staff and provides employment opportunities for people of different nationalities, ethnicities and disabilities.

In China, Narada has employees from 26 nationalities. In addition, female employees account for 32.01%, and female employees in middle and senior management account for 17.91%. Narada strictly complies with national regulations and international conventions to guarantee equal employment for male and female employees and strictly prohibits employment discrimination.

In the future, Narada will continue to focus on new energy consumption, product recycling, carbon footprint, employee well-being, and so on. According to the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting the harmonious coexistence of business, environment and society.
